greetings from the vikingmaiden
sorry guys been a bit neglectful lately.
ive been soo busy that ive had papers coming out my nose. or something like that. things were really stressful the beginning and middle of last week and it wasnt really until friday that i could breathe and saturday until i could have fun. and today, sunday, im stuck with a headache. go fig.
lets see here... i gave blood on tuesday. soo grateful i wasnt a "bloody reject" this time. my iron content was just high enough to donate... thank goodness for raisins. i was oh so nicely surprised with an essay on monday due on thursday. lets see, by the time i got it i was workin till nine, had five classes the next day, and then on wednesday i worked and had classes until 4:00... i had oh so much time for a surprise essay. (sorry a tad bit bitter). that essay was probably the most stressful thing all week. i almost cried when i was told by two girls who are in the same class as me (w/ different discussion leaders) that they had different (easier) questions than i. oh well such is life eh? i have a big case study due for my human services class which im really nervous about. its due a week from tuesday and we havent even started. i really didnt want to take leadership of this project which is probably why i procrastinated getting anything done and hey look, laura is playing leader... like always. sigh. bit of humor... i took one of those lotr personality tests online. i got aragorn (now i know this isnt a surprise to some of you, but seriously, i am a hobbit a heart) and so i was like "grrr... i want a hobbit" so i took it again... get this... i was aragorn AGAIN. i need some serious help.
last night (saturday) a group of us girls from my dorm went to pittsburgh. big deal. i havent been there before even though its like back yard turf. see what happens when we dont have cars? (jokes about me not having my license are not allowed) anywho, i agreed only cuz i had gotten a paper done earlier in the day and i was quite proud of myself. so we went to a place called "station square" and parked in the "D" lot. (like you guys HAD to know that). anyways there was this building which had all these little shops in it and so we kinda window shopped for a few minutes. one store sold these really sweet lamps. the were gorgeous and were very ornate looking but the best part was that they let off a sent. you burned this stone inside it for a couple of minutes and then it would be warm enough to burn off this alcohol based sent. wow. it was awesome. i want one for my dorm room. hahaha ok that was my fantasy for the night. then we went to this pretty neat toy store and outside it was this old wooden game thing... you know one of those things that eat quarters for silly little predictions. well we were having fun and so we decided to do this particular one which was like "how hott are you?" and it had things like: "simmering, flirtatious, passionate, shy, modest, mild, cold fish, etc" on it and you put in a quarter and held onto this little grip thing and the lights would light up in a line and as you let go the lights went slower and slower and finally only one would be lit. well i was the first to try it. i got the moderately high "flirtatious" (comments anyone?)... i think my success encouraged the girls. angela, kristen, and amanda all got "cold fish" (the lowest of the low--sorry chicas) and my roommate got "mild." the nuns of kerr are heating up the house... comparatively at least. then we decided we were going to be hungry so we went to the hardrock cafe and got ourselves those little blinker dudes. the whole night we saw limos and prom dresses. it was sorta neat. then we walked to starbucks and i had to get away from the very oppressing smell of coffee and so i sat and watched a street preformer on one of those kettle drums. pretty darn spiffy. well the girls came out and angela talked me into trying her... whatever it was. YUCK. YUCK. YUCKITY YUCK. my face probably told them all they needed to know. then we walked along the river a bit. not sure which although our only pittsburgh resident, amanda, told us this was important to know. well golly gee at least i know the three rivers that connect at pittsburgh. im moving up in life. well eventually our lighter buzzer thingie lit up, freakin me out.. and we got seated. dinner was lovely with a lot of fun with the cameras. dangerous. although lyndsey got a good one of me spacing out. there was a bachlorette party next to us. umm... yuck. yuck. yuckity yuck. almost as bad as the coffee. almost. our waiter didnt charge us for the drinks and angela started analyzing this. so jokingly she asked who was leaving their number for him and i was like, "i am." hahahaha. they almost thought i would. ahh well. i would have if they hadnt believed i would. just b/c. lol. anywho, after that we went up this thing called the incline. it was a cable car going up an insanely steep mountain/hill. insanely steep. so steep that the car was built so it had three levels. but the bottom was cut off at an angle so the top level didnt have a bottom level... iffin that makes sense. well we went up this insanely steep track, steeper and higher than any track at hershypark, although it sorta reminded me of sidewinder, going up backwards and waiting to plummet. yeah. some of the girls didnt like the idea of "waiting to plummet" lyndsey and i were like "ooh cool" and the others were like, "sit down!" hehehehe. when we got up we went to this overlook place and we got some gorgeous pics. loved it. then we went to get some icecream... yummers. and then we went back down. serious it wasnt bad at all but some girls got a tad bit nervous. oh well. then we treked back to the car in section "D" remember? only as i was walkin i was like, "guys you know, i think we're really parked in "C," i think angela read the wrong sign. and one of the girls was like, "nooo..." well guess who was right??? woohoo. i should have gotten a free fudge sunday. well close, but no cigar. yeah, so that was our night. it was such a grand evening. spent money like i never do, but it was worth every penny or i wouldnt have paid. lol.
well... i actually posted. arent you guys proud? now im off to bed. love ya kids!
yay! i always love hearing from you! i would have liked to see pittsburg, i've only been in the airport! have a lovely day!
